Educational Background
B.S. in Communication Disorders
I earned my degree from California State University, Los Angeles, where I developed a strong foundation in speech and hearing sciences, audiology, and speech-language pathology.
M.S. in Deaf and Hard of Hearing with Credential in Education
At California Lutheran University, I specialized in intervention for children ages, 0-22, with strong focus on early intervention (0-3), focusing on listening and spoken language development, aural habilitation, and family-centered education.
Professional Experience in Early Intervention
I have more than 10 years of experience working extensively with infants, toddlers, and their families to build strong foundations in language and communication.
Extensive experience with all types of hearing technology, including:
cochlear implants
bone-anchored hearing aids (BAHAs)
FM/DM systems
hearing aids
Auditory-Verbal Therapy (AVT) strategies
Fluent in Spanish- providing direct support to Spanish-speaking families and ensure they have access to the resources they need.
Basic American Sign Language (ASL) support for families who wish to incorporate sign language as a supplement to their child’s communication development.
Additional Experience:
While my experience is in early intervention (0-3), I also have experience supporting students from elementary to high school, addressing a wide spectrum of hearing-related needs. I have experience working with students with all types of hearing loss, including those with additional diagnoses and syndromes.
Actively participate in developing assessments, IFSP/ IEP meetings and reports, collaborating with audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals to develop tailored plans.
